I’m talking to my family about colorectal cancer.

My sister who was healthy, never smoked, or drank and took care of herself and ate healthy started with sympthoms of stomach pains, like an ulcer. Finally one day she took herself to the E.R. because she couldn’t stand the pain and was diagnosed with a blockage in the intestines. When they operated on her they found she was at stage 4 colon cancer. After extensive chemo she died after only 10 months. She had gone for her colonoscopy 3 years prior and came up clean. So you never know! I go every year now for my testing and so does my brother. I have bleeding in my stool so I have more frequent visits with my doctor to make sure I ok. I am the mother of 5 daughters and I preach to them the importance of regular checkups.
